646f9e108c Police inspector Emilien and his taxi-driver pal Daniel are back, this time on the tail of a group of Japanese yakuza. The Japanese ambassaor is visiting Marseilles to view the city police&#39;s anti-gang tactics. During the visit, however, he is kidnapped by a group working for the Japanese yakuza. Young officer Emilien is determined to rescue the ambassador and officer Petra (his girlfriend), who was also kidnapped, and restore the honor of his department. Once again, speed demon taxi-driver Daniel (from the first Taxi movie) is called upon to save the day with his high-speed driving skills. As usual, the IMDB users who feel they belong to the upper eschilons of film society have mocked this, a film which is genuinely funny.<br/><br/>From the start the film is funny - a rally car being overtaken by a taxi - &#39;Tourists!&#39; as he calls them. Some great exhibition driving, good stunts and a black impenetrable car which starts when someone says ninja to it.<br/><br/>Some good gags, good laughs and overall a very funny film. Although I feel it loses some of its charm in translation, my very limited knowledge of French helped me appreciate a bit more than I would have. This is by far the worst movie I&#39;ve seen these last ten years. A script so lame even Roger Corman would have been ashamed of it. The characters are so one-dimensional you just don&#39;t care about anyone. Anyway, they&#39;re just bad actors trying to cash on the Taxi success and trying to be someone in the movie business. Samy Naceri is more reknown in France in the press for his violent assaults on people than his acting capabilities. And Frederic Diefenthal is just another comic-wannabe who will sadly always being remembered for trying to be the french Joe Pesci.<br/><br/>Action is the best you can get here but seeing car crashes all along is a bit of a bore after 30 minutes.<br/><br/>Cinematography is the same than the first Taxi. I&#39;ve seen in the credits than the director is different from the first movie. Oh, really? I reaaalllly don&#39;t see any difference here.<br/><br/>The jokes are totally brainless. Worst of all and unforgivable, this thing I hardly call movie, is racist towards the japanese people, sexist and homophobic from A to Z. It is hardly believable that today such racist content could still appear.<br/><br/>Everyone was laughing in the theater, except the ones directly concerned by these poor jokes. It is far too easy to laugh at and to disregard people that are not in the mainstream macho world (i.e : asian people, women and gays&amp;lesbians). This movie should really be condamned and banned for this...but as I&#39;m against all censorship, I know history will do me right on that one. Movies that make a lot of money are rarely movies that are remembered for being good ones.<br/><br/>This is a popcorm movie at its worst. Luc Besson should be happy by now (he &quot;wrote&quot; and &quot;produced&quot; Taxi 2)because Taxi 2 is the most successful movie in France of 2000. It gained more cash than The Phantom Menace. It will allow Mr Besson to shoot another bore. Let&#39;s just hope it&#39;s not gonna be The Messenger 2 :the revenge of Joan.<br/><br/>You probably know by now you should avoid this movie at any cost.
